With just two and a half years left to retire, Ambrose Omondi has got a lot lined up. He has so many expectations and a number of projects that require money that need to be done. He had worries but thanks to Lotto, the worries have been lessened.
The 58 year old father of six won himself KES 1,400,000. His Lotto journey has been full of ups and down. He started playing the game since Lotto’s inception in 2015. Omondi won nothing for a long time but he did not despair.
“My son who studies in Kenyatta University introduced me to the game. He believed I would win. I heeded his advice because his school fees needed to be taken care of. We needed a better house and a big piece of land. God definitely spoke to me through my son and I heeded His voice.” he says
The Kisumu County native currently stays in Bungoma due to the nature of his job. He was in the house with his wife when the Lotto call came in. They were both so overjoyed. His wife has since started playing the game. His house is full of joy. Everyone knows that thanks to the Lotto win, there will be positive changes in the home. Neighbors have started flocking his house to get tips on how to play and win the game.
Omondi has a son who attained a mean grade of A plain. He was in dire need of money to enable him to enrol in university. Omondi has another son in form four and is expected to clear his fees and take him in to university.
“I took a loan of KES 1,500,000 some time back for the purpose of buying a piece of land and I am in the process of paying it. Ksh 700,000 is left and with this win it shall soon be cleared. I will focus on paying school fees, building a better house and buying a piece of land.” he states
The millionaire has worked as a clerk at Nzoia Sugar Company Bungoma for 37 years now. He and states that he loves his job to the extent that even if he won KES. 100,000,000, he would never stop working there. He purposes to work till his retirement for he enjoys keeping records.
The Lotto winner believes that Lotto unites Kenyans for it does not select the people to award the money to. It is based on luck and winners are gotten from all parts of the country. He now has more faith in the game after his win and encourages more Kenyans to play the game for it is real.
“I would like to tell Kenyans that Lotto is a very good game. It helps people to get out of the mud when they are stuck. I never for once imagined that I could be a millionaire but look at me now!” he concludes
